Transfer

Run an operational handoff

Go-live is approaching and accounts, documentation, recurring duties, support boundaries, and consultant access are not yet under nonprofit control.

Control principle

The nonprofit should be able to operate, explain, maintain, and exit what it funded.

Go-live is approaching and accounts, documentation, recurring duties, support boundaries, and consultant access are not yet under nonprofit control.

Use it in the active phase

Start with these controls

  1. Inventory nonprofit-owned accounts, roles, configurations, integrations, data maps, and recovery methods.
  2. Transfer current documentation, known limitations, renewal dates, support routes, and unresolved risks.
  3. Have staff perform administrator, operator, onboarding, reporting, and recovery tasks while help remains available.
  4. Review external access, remove what is no longer required, and schedule the first post-launch operating review.

Pause point

Do not let schedule pressure erase nonprofit ownership

Never place passwords or recovery codes in a general handoff document. Use approved nonprofit-controlled identity and secret-management practices.
