Charter

Build an engagement charter

A contract is signed or close to signing, but the team still needs one plain-language view of the operating result, boundaries, roles, and decision points.

Control principle

Turn contractual scope into a working agreement the delivery team can actually use.

A contract is signed or close to signing, but the team still needs one plain-language view of the operating result, boundaries, roles, and decision points.

Use it in the active phase

Start with these controls

  1. Name the operating result and the work that must remain stable during implementation.
  2. List the sponsor, business owner, delivery lead, system owner, data owner, and acceptance authority.
  3. Translate each phase into an output, nonprofit input, review date, and acceptance signal.
  4. Record exclusions, dependencies, access limits, escalation, change control, and the next stop decision.

Pause point

Do not let schedule pressure erase nonprofit ownership

The charter does not replace the signed agreement. Reconcile conflicts with the contract owner and qualified reviewers before work proceeds.
